Esoteric Book Club - Beginning October 3rd, first Tuesday of each month
If you know bits and pieces of astrology (or nothing at all!) and have been wanting a way to learn more and synthesize your knowledge to help you read birth charts, this is your opportunity! Karena from Magic of the Moon Astrology is hosting a monthly esoteric book club at Ophelia’s from 7 - 8pm on the first Tuesday of every month beginning October 3rd. This book club will take participants through The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest.
This book is an astrology classic; it covers all foundational astrology concepts and is written in a beautiful and engaging way. Karena will share suggested reading from the book in preparation for each meeting, and will come prepared to facilitate an engaging discussion around each section that helps participants engage with and internalize the material so that everyone feels comfortable doing basic birth chart readings by the end of the book. She will leave ample time in each session for questions as well, to ensure that every participant understands the material - some pieces of astrology can take a little time to grasp at first!
Logistics:
All you will need is a copy of The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest, which you can order through Ophelia’s. If you are a person who likes taking notes, you may want to also have a notebook and pen. If you have started reading the book before the first meeting on Oct 3rd, great! If not, the first meeting will be oriented around what the group will be covering in this book, and will cover the intro chapter, so it’s ok if you are just getting the book that first day! Karena will send out questions to consider before each of our sessions to help guide our in-person discussions, but please feel free to come with your own thoughts and questions too!
Also - if you email Karena your birth details (city, birth date including year, and time of birth) ahead of time, she will give you a printed copy of your birth chart to easily reference throughout the sessions! Unpoetry - October 18th
Back by popular demand for a 3rd month at Ophelia's -- Unpoetry! These community experiences occur twice monthly throughout the area. The unreading will transform Ophelia's into an interstitial space where "unpoetry is art practicing art". Wednesday, October 18th, 7-8:30 pm.
