The Short List Book Club is part of Colin's attempt to try to make up for studying linguistics instead of literature and his love of short-form writing. The club will focus on reading well-known authors' collections of short stories, articles, and all the other stuff -- both fiction and non.

The structure is unique: two books will be read at the same time over the course of two months, comparing their content in any number of ways from their cultural milieu, to developments in style, etc.

Your Host

Colin

Colin is one of the regulars at Ophelia's. When he isn't stopping into the shop while he's in the neighborhood you can find him reading, writing, painting, biking, and just sort of walking around. He has a habit of reading pretty much anything once and normally has a fiction and non-fiction book going at the same time. To procrastinate reading books he reads the Paris Review, London Review of Books, Harper's, and County Highway. Outside of those, he often revisits his favourite authors and painters: Helen Frankenthaler, Anthony Bourdain, Lee Krasner, William Vollmann, Joan Didion, Mark Rothko, and Kurt Vonnegut.
